“El Arte y Amor en los Tiempos Malos”

An art exhibit coordinated by Latinx Arts Network will open Saturday, June 1, 2024 at CIC in Cortex, 4220 Duncan Ave in St. Louis and will run through the summer.  The exhibit is curated by Jose Garza and Miriam Ruiz and will feature local Latinx artists of different mediums.

The theme El Arte y Amor en los Tiempos Malos (Art and Love in Bad Times) explores the complex relationship between art, love and suffering. All works share a common theme: the belief that art can help us to understand and cope with the challenges of life.  The artwork featured was created after the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The opening reception to the Saturday, June 1 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at CIC in Cortex.

Attendees will get a first look at the exhibit plus enjoy complimentary authentic food, drinks and music by Brazilian DJ Cassiana.

The exhibit is partially funded by the Regional Arts Commission.
